Weight Loss
Hi Brian,
Good to hear from you! Things are going very well. Find answers to your
questions below... also, I'd love to leave a (glowing of course) review
somewhere. If there is a specific review site or place online where you
think it would be most beneficial, please let me know.
How would you describe the results you achieved?
I'm down about 25lbs, which was what I was aiming to do, and I'm just
in generally better shape because I don't have to wrestle with myself
to go to the gym regularly.
I still can't put my finger on exactly how certain
parts of the process worked. I understand and remember all of the
different memories that came up, the emotions I went through, and the
conclusions I came to - but I am still a little unclear on exactly how
these translated into real life changes so easily. I hate to say this
because I know it sounds hard to believe, but the results were
literally like flipping a switch. I had a renewed sense of self
control, and a real feeling of confidence that I could sustain it. I'm
still amazed at how little effort it has required for me to maintain my
new outlook and behaviors. It's my nature now, not something I have to
fight with.
Are you satisified with the results?
Very. The results were clearer and feel more permanent than I ever expected they could be.
Have you experienced any life "side-effects" of having achieved the result - positive or negative?
The changes I went through have been pervasive in other areas of my
life. I went in wondering whether or not I really needed this - I
didn't have what I considered to be much of a serious problem; but the
things I learned and the changes in my attitude have given me a new,
sort of "external" perspective on myself and how I go through my daily
life. How I interact with people (something that has little to do with
my willpower in relation to my weight, the initial reason I came in)
has changed dramatically for the better, in turn leading to other
positive changes in my relationships.
Do you have any feedback you can give
on the experience of working with me or suggestions I might be able to
use in my work with future clients?
I really appreciated the time that was built into the process. My
initial expectation was that this would be a straight six week process,
which would have been easier for you, but it wouldn't have been as
effective. Spreading out my sessions to check in and give me time to
live/work after each session and see how things would play out was a
big piece of why it worked so well for me. Also - the book on self
esteem you had me read throughout the process was an essential piece of
the puzzle. I recommend it to people all the time; I think it is
something everyone can benefit from.
What would you tell a friend who was considering working with me as way to solve a similar problem?
I really had no idea what to expect going into this process. I didn't
doubt that it was real and would be beneficial - the reviews I had read
made that clear - but my sessions were a lot more grounded than I had
expected them to be. While I've never been in any formal therapy, I
felt like the whole process was a combination of therapy and hypnosis -
two pieces that came together and really solidified one another.
Again Brian, Thanks so much. I really have nothing but good things to
say, it was an excellent experience and I'm a better person because of
it.
