Hypnotherapy works by working where the problem is
Have you ever tried to break a bad habit — then kept right on doing it? Have you ever felt feelings that just didn't make sense? Things were OK — but you still felt angry or nervous or afraid? Maybe you experienced some kind of compulsion— and you just couldn't change the way you felt?
When these things happen, you don't know why you do what you do.
Or you know - but you can't control it.
It's because the source of the problem is below the conscious level. That's why the problem is so difficult to solve with talk or willpower. Hypnosis enables you to work directly in the areas where those feelings and habits come from.
It's a little like...
Solving a problem with hypnosis is a little like being on the second floor of a house, and you can hear a TV on the first floor that's tuned to a show you don't like. If you want to change the channel, you need to know:
- How to get to the first floor
- Where the remote for the TV is
Once you know those things, changing the channel is simple. But until you know how, it's very difficult.
With hypnosis, you can get to the first floor, get the remote and change the channel. It gives you a level of control you don't have in your normal state of consciousness.
